Apple Imac Not Starting Up

If you see a battery icon appear on the screen instead of an apple logo, it means the battery in your mac notebook is too low to start up. connect the power adapter to charge your mac's battery, then try starting up again.. Start up your mac while holding down the t button on the keyboard. keep holding the t button down as you hear the startup chime and keep it pressed until the thunderbolt icon appears on your. My 6 year old imac refuses to start up....all i get is a white screen with the apple logo. i have tried switching off and restarting, the same thing....

Best answer: hi, angela, thanks for the opportunity to answer. the startup process on macs involves several steps. when the computer gets hung up on any of the steps, it aids in troubleshooting to know what the steps are.. Your mac may sometimes not respond to the power button at all, or macos might crash or fail to start up properly. here’s what to do if your mac won’t turn on. the first steps here assume your mac just isn’t responding when you press its power button.. After you push the power button, you see a gray screen (or a black screen, depedning on the mac you are using) while your mac searches for the startup drive, and then a blue screen as your mac loads the files it needs from the startup drive. if all goes well, you'll end up at the desktop..
